Jeffrey S. Nelson, M.D.
Jeffrey S. Nelson, M.D. has practiced at Midwest Allergy and Asthma Clinic, P.C. since 1993. He is currently an Adjunct Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Creighton University School of Medicine and a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC), both in Omaha, Nebraska.
Dr. Nelson is a native of Nebraska. He received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Dr. Nelson completed Pediatric Residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa, where he also completed a combined Fellowship in Allergy/Immunology and Pediatric Pulmonology.
Dr. Nelson is certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners, American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Pediatrics Sub-Board of Pediatric Pulmonology. He is a member of the following organizations:

Dr. Nelson’s practice encompasses the treatment of patients of all ages, ranging from infants through the entire adult age spectrum.
Dr. Nelson is married and has two adult sons. He enjoys family activities, landscaping, dogs, and walking.

Jaine Brownell, M.D.
Jaine Brownell, M.D. has been in practice at Midwest Allergy and Asthma Clinic, P.C. since 2004.
She received her Doctor of Medicine from Creighton University in 1998. She completed a four-year Residency in the combined fields of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. She subsequently completed a Fellowship in Allergy/Immunology at Creighton in 2004. Dr. Brownell is a native of Wyoming.
Dr. Brownell is certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology, National Board of Medical Examiners, American Board of Pediatrics and is Board-Eligible for certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Ebrahim Shakir, M.D.
Ebrahim Shakir, M.D. joined Midwest Allergy and Asthma Clinic, P.C. in August 2011.
Dr. Shakir received his Doctor of Medicine from Creighton University School of Medicine where he received the Gold Humanism Award in 2005. Since then, he has completed a Residency in Pediatrics and a Fellowship in Allergy & Immunology at Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wisconsin completing them in 2008 and 2010 respectively. Dr. Shakir was born in Kansas but raised in a suburb of Chicago.
Dr. Shakir is certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology and the American Board of Pediatrics.

Dr. Shakir treats patients of all ages ranging from infants through adults.
Dr. Shakir serves as allergy clerkship coordinator for the Clarkson Family Practice Residency, the UNMC/Creighton Pediatrics Residency, and Creighton Internal Medicine Residency. He has also been the annual lecturer for the allergy/immunology component of the pediatric board review course for the last 7 years. Dr. Shakir serves as adjunct clinical faculty for Creighton University School of Medicine in the respiratory curriculum and presents on clinical asthma management.
In his off-time Dr. Shakir enjoys spending time with his wife and chasing after his 3 children. He likes to spend as much time outdoors as possible, mostly in his garden or out mountain biking.

Teodoro Segura, M.D. PhD
Teodoro Segura, M.D. Ph. D. joined Midwest Allergy and Asthma Clinic, P.C. in December 2015.
Dr. Segura obtained both his MD and a PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. He completed his residency training in Internal Medicine and his fellowship in Allergy-Immunology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Following his training, Dr. Segura greatly enjoyed working with an allergy group in Papillion, Nebraska, from 1998 to 2003. He continued to take care of patients as a solo practicing allergist for Allergy & Asthma Care in Omaha, Nebraska, from 2002 to 2015.
Dr. Segura is certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology and is fluent in Spanish (Habla español).

Dr. Segura’s practice includes the treatment of patients of all ages, ranging from pediatrics to adults. Dr. Segura has made it a top priority to carefully listen to each one of his patients and to clearly inform them regarding all aspects of their care.

Brian T. Kelly, M.D.
Brian T. Kelly, MD is excited to join Midwest Allergy and Asthma Clinic, P.C. in March 2021!
Dr. Kelly grew up in a suburb of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He attended medical school at the University of Missouri – Kansas City. There he was elected a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha medical society. He completed his pediatrics and allergy/immunology education at the Medical College of Wisconsin and Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. He is board certified in Allergy/Immunology and Pediatrics.

He currently serves as the chairman of the Annual Meeting Program Committee at the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. He enjoys teaching the next generation of physicians as well.
Dr. Kelly cares for both pediatric and adult patients with any allergic or immunologic condition. He would be humbled to care for you or your family.
When he is not at work you can find him hiking with his wife and four boys, at the hockey rink watching his boys play hockey, or playing golf. He enjoys being active and being outside as much as possible.

In Memoriam - Thomas C. Nilsson, M.D.
It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of Dr. Thomas Nilsson.
Doctor Nilsson came to work at Midwest Allergy and Asthma Clinic, P.C. to work alongside his father and founder Dr. Donald Nilsson in 1980. This past summer Dr. Nilsson celebrated his 40th year with Midwest Allergy and Asthma Clinic, P.C.
Dr. Thomas Nilsson saw patients from all walks of life and enjoyed getting to know each and every one of them, always going above and beyond in their care.
His kind heart, contagious laugh, and caring smile will be missed by all. February 2, 1947-October 24, 2020
